A certified USDA Summer Food Service Program

The Lunch Box is a retired school bus that was renovated into a mobile cafeteria. During the summer months, Of One Accord transports already prepared lunches each week day into various neighborhoods in Hawkins County, where once parked, children & teens can board the bus to eat a nutritious meal. See 2007 Lunch Box schedule. The bus is chaperoned each day by a trained bus driver, volunteers from local youth groups, and other program staff.

Area youth groups are encouraged to volunteer on the bus to help:

  • Serve lunches
  • Clean up between sites
  • Unload the bus at the end of the route
  • Become a "friend" to children and teens who eat lunch on the bus
